Built in 1981, the school became a four-year university in 2008, with two campuses: Jishan and Jinghu, with a total area of about 1.2 million square meters, of which building space totals 420,000 square meters. There are 11 schools and colleges, 30 degree programs, and 12 language majors, with 16,000 full-time students and 1000 faculty and staff. The University has the biggest number foreign language majors (including uncommonly-taught language majors) in Zhejiang province with rich resources and name recognition. The College is known for its focus on producing applied talent and providing high quality education to its students, with the highest employment rates upon graduation for the past 10 years. This kindergarten is a full-day kindergarten, with services of education, child care, and research. The teachers include both Chinese early-childhood specialists and international faculty who teach side by side to provide bilingual education to its children, having come to become a high-quality and internationalized premium kindergarten in the region. In addition, it is the research site of bilingual education, Shanghai Eastern China Normal University, a key pre-service practicum site of early childhood education in Shaoxing, a Shaoxing municipal model kindergarten, and the second best kindergarten in Zhejiang Province.
